Bysaki and Kusmi refer to the two harvest seasons of the lac insect — Bysaki (spring/summer) and Kusmi (autumn/winter). Kusmi Seedlac is generally considered superior in colour and resin content, while Bysaki grades are widely used for standard Shellac conversion. Both are available in 3% and 5% wax variants as well as Golden grades.
We work with buyers ranging from mid-size processors to large industrial manufacturers. Please contact our exports team directly to discuss MOQ, pricing, and lead times for your specific requirement.
Seedlac itself is the raw material used to produce food-grade Shellac. Buyers who require food-grade compliance typically convert TOC Seedlac into Bleached or Dewaxed Shellac. Please specify your end-use requirements when enquiring and we’ll recommend the most suitable grade.
The wax content refers to the naturally occurring shellac wax present in the resin. Lower wax grades (3%) are preferred for producing Dewaxed Shellac and Bleached Shellac. Higher wax grades (5%) are commonly used for standard Shellac processing.
Seedlac should be stored in cool, dry conditions — ideally in air-conditioned warehouses maintained at 14–18°C. Proper storage prevents clumping and preserves resin quality, particularly important in tropical climates during warmer months.
